What is School Based Decision Making?

School Based decision making is a process/tool used by groups and includes all of these elements:

  • A commonly held, student-centered vision

  • A climate of trust

  • A respect for diverse ideas and interests

  • An open dialogue and debate

  • A shared leadership, accountability, authority, and responsibility

  • An actively involved, broad-based representation of employees, parents, students, and the community.


What is the purpose?

The goal of School Based decision making is to ensure staff, parent, and community involvement to accomplish the district mission through its Strategic Plan. The district's mission is "To provide a quality education that prepares all children for a successful future. Jeffco's 2020 vision is for all Jeffco graduates is "In order for students to pursue their life goals by 2020, all graduates will be able to successfully apply the following competencies: Content Mastery, Civic and Global Engagement, Communication, Critical Thinking and Creativity and Self--Direction andPersonal Responsibility All Jeffco schools are evaluating how they use the School Based decision making process to ensure they are achieving accreditation expectations.


Meetings are located in the library from 7:30 AM - 8:30 AM

Meeting dates are:  Friday, January 20, 2023 Friday, February 10, 2023 Monday, March 13, 2023-Agenda Friday, April 14, 2023
